This position has come full circle for Kelvin as it draws from his IT skill set from his Canadian days.

Josh & Nicole Fast

Youth For Christ - Victoria

Josh has a passion for youth and a love for media. As a teen, he was greatly impacted by his youth leaders which inspired him to become a youth leader. This has led him to involvement in various ways with youth groups within his local church, including volunteering and teaching youth valuable truths about their faith.

The influence of media on youth in our culture cannot be understated. Movies, music and celebrities have an incredibly loud voice that impacts so much of what youth think and believe. When he was in high school, Motivational Media came and presented to his school. Josh was inspired by the message and recognized the Biblical values being shared through the movie clips and interviews with Hollywood personalities.

Josh now has the opportunity to use this same presentation as a tool to help youth see the truth about themselves and their potential. The ministry will be equipping youth to face issues like self-esteem, bullying, alcohol and drug abuse and safe driving practises. Their goal is to bring together communities and youth groups and share these values, but also the truth that Jesus has made each of them for reason and wants them to get to know Him. Josh is thrilled for the chance to work with Youth For Christ Victoria and make this outreach a reality.

Josh and Nicole have one son, Malakai.

Tim & Barb Schindel

Leading influence ministries - Victoria & Toronto

Tim and Barb Schindel began their relationship with Colwood Church in 1989 when Tim joined our church staff as Asst. Pastor until June 1994.  Barb spent several years as Worship Director after they returned to Victoria in 2007 and continues to lead worship regularly. They are extremely proud to have their children involved in ministry in the church as well.

Leading Influence (LI) was launched by faith in 2007 out of a deep conviction that Canadian politicians needed a ministry presence to serve and support them as they provide leadership to our provinces and nation.  Today, LI has chaplains in BC, SK and Ontario with plans to add chaplains in AB, MB and Ottawa over the next several years.  In addition to chaplaincy ministry, Leading Influence currently leads 5 daily prayer networks with 5500 participants who pray daily provincial politicians from BC through to Ontario.  Their vision includes having a functioning prayer network in every Canadian province by 2020!

While Tim and Barb call Victoria home, Tim splits his time between Victoria and Toronto where he is currently working with Ontario MPPs.

Kevin & Mary-jayne Smith

Ywam - victoria

Kevin and Mary-Jane Smith serve as the directors of YWAM Victoria. Since the spring of 2015 Kevin and Mary-Jane have served with YWAM Ships, a ministry which serves the isolated only accessible by ships, in Hawaii and Papua New Guinea. God has now called them back home to step into a new role within Youth With A Mission as they have been commissioned to pioneer a new base here in Victoria. Their hearts are to develop disciples of Jesus Christ, mobilize missionaries to bring hope to the isolated both locally and globally and to raise up and serve leaders within the Body of Christ. They also serve on the North American leadership team of YWAM’s Leadership Development Course (LDC).
